I am a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist (LMFT) and a Licensed Clinical Professional Counselor (LCPC), specializing in the area of trauma recovery. I completed my graduate studies and counseling internship at Northwestern University's Family Institute, and worked for ten years in Community Mental Health as an outpatient therapist, while maintaining a private practice.
I am certified in the Internal Family Systems model for individuals as well as couples and have found this tool to be invaluable for clients to facilitate the changes in their life that have been elusive.
I have also studied energy work for many years including Reikii, A.R.T. (Attunement, Release, Transformation), and F.A.C. (Flow Alignment Connection). These practices have contributed to my psychotherapy work by allowing me to be highly attuned to the mind/body connection and to provide safe and empathic witnessing to the emotional blocks and shifts that a client can experience during a session.
I believe in every individual's capacity to heal and transform, no matter how much wounding through trauma has occurred. I am highly empathic and intuitive and provide a safe and non-judgmental environment for growth and change.
